The ride was over in another 10 minutes as the bikes veered aronud a steep rocky cliff path, and into a small tunnel that opened for them in the rock face. A half-mile of tunnel late, the bikes sped into the large expanse of the batcave- a cavern filled with robotics, computer hums, and the screech of bats.
''Welcome to the Batcave.'' Nightwing said, distangling himself from Slade. It was'nt entirely unpleasant to be... near Slade again. But it was too dangerous. SLADE was too dangerous. Jason clambered off his own bike. ''Viola.''
Nightwing glanced at him. ''You can take off your helmet now.'' Jason crossed his arms. ''Secret identity. I dont think so.'' ''He's from the future, he's from the past, and the other guy is ME. Who the hell do you think is going to care what your face looks like!?'' Nightwing snapped, striding towards the main computer, over the masses of parked cars and up the steps to the giant conglomerate of screens. Jason shrugged and reached behind his head, unsnapping the helmet and hanging it on the bikes handlebars, pushing his dark hair back from his face.
''Theres the main terminal.'' He motioned for Brainiac to follow him as he mimicked Nightwing in crossing to the main computer. ''All the tech you need you'll find there. We have a lab in the back, if memory serves me right.'' Nightwing was encoding all private files stop any hacking, but he had time to turn and point at Slade. ''You dont do anything. The cave is off limits. Stay close to me. To us.'' He corrected himself with gritted teeth, turning back to his job. A few minutes later he stood and waved Brainy over. ''Have fun. We have probably an hour before we have to explain this to-'' He looked up and stopped short. Batman was standing inches away from them, silently watching the goings-on. ''.....oh...... hi Bruce.''

The Batcave was impressive. For its time that is. But still Brainy could barely believe he was in THE batcave. Even in the future no one had found the cave - some even believed it was just a legend - but now he stood inside of it. As mentioned, it was impressive for its time. From what he could see the tech seemed advanced and could provide some things he needed. He followed Nightwing and just to be as far away from both Slade and Red as possible. Still he felt awkward being in there. He knew Batman and Superman were friends, he recalls even asking Superman about it when he last visited the Legion in the future. He was just about to ask Nightwing if Batman had some kind of way to contact Superman when he also noticed the dark figure beside them. While he wasn't green and his Brainiac symbol was hardly visible, he felt like hiding behind something or throwing himself to the ground in fear that this tall, black-dressed man would attack him. In this light, the horrible legends about him rang true. Brainy moved a little closer to Nightwing.

Despite the fact of the Dark Knights appearance, Slade couldn't stop himself from a snarky reply. "Well, I won't argue with that." He smirks, moving over to Nightwings other side. He chuckled. "Especially with father bats watching."
Robin landed outside the batcave and made his way inside. It'd been a long time since he'd been here. Everything still looked as he remembered it though. The weird thing was the automatic homey feeling he got upon his arrival. He grinned. Hopefully Alfred was around. He'd love to say 'hi' again. These thoughts got interrupted as he stepped into the room occupied with the other four of the group. Including Batman.
"Uh.." He spoke up in the silence.

Bruce didnt say a single word for a few moments, but his glare was almost burning holes through Slades mask. Even his cowl didnt do much to disguise the look of loathing he was throwing at the man. Nightwing cringed. Slade wouldnt have known what the look was for, but he sure did. ''Its all right Batman.'' He said softly, stepping foreward. ''He's with me.''
''I beleive that was the problem last time, too.'' Batman grating reply made Nightwing wince. ''And so is he.'' He ignored the jab and nodded at the younger Robin. ''Br-Batman, meet... well, me.''
''Time travel.'' Jason said calmly, grinning at Brainys obvious discomfort. ''Yeah thanks Jason, I think he got that.'' ''No problem.... Dick.'' Nightwing also ignored the pointed wordplay on his name and continued. ''Slade's from his time as well.''
''And the Brainaic.'' Jason grinned, getting a morbid satisfaction from outing Brainys little secret. Batman was ignoring their banter. For the most part, if Dick and Jason- the most mistrusting person in the world- trusted theese guys enough to bring them here, then there was something terribly wrong.
''This had better be damn good to bring them HERE of all places.'' He growled, still staring at the young Robin even though he was talknig to Nightwing. ''Fill me in on whats going on. And Robin....'' His voice softened an octave when talknig to the boy. Barely noticable, but there. ''Keep a close watch on your one-eyed freind. And..... try not to be seen.'' Dwelling on the past- when Dick really WAS Robin, was futile. After Jason he was not about to let himself even consider having another Robin. But seeing Robin there was enough to make him reconsider.

Brainy decided it was time for him to step forward. "I'm afraid I'm the one reponsible for this mess," he started. "My name is Brainiac 5 and I'm from the future. My ancestor, the Brainiac you know, has found a way to travel in time and has been ripping it up badly enough to bring these two from the past here. I would send them right back, but my time-travel device was broken during an encounter with said fiend. If it is not too much of a problem I could use your equipment and..." He hesitated. "It would also help to have access to Superman's kryptonian technology."

Robin nodded at Bruce's order, knowing that it would probably be best if he stopped avoiding Slade. He was his villain from his time after all. It's only fair that he took responsibility, even AFTER the strange moment between him and his future self.
He couldn't help but notice how Slade clung around him though. When Batman wasn't glancing in their direction, which wasn't very many times at all, he could see Slade making ...moves, on himself.
It was sickening. Kind of. But again for some reason..he just wanted to kick his ass right here. He didn't quite know why though..

Batman listened to their story, and after questioning Nightwing and Jason at lenght of the happenings, he turned back to Brainy. ''I am aware of who you are. Superman..... has a fondess for talking about the Legion.'' He turned away and unclipped a transmitter on his belt, hooking it under the cowl to his ear. ''Batman to Superman. You're needed in the cave as soon as possible. There's a Brainiac Five here to see you. I beleive you've met.'' He turned back to Brainiac five and sat down at the computer, steepling his fingers and sitting back. ''He should be here in aproximatly 25 seconds.''
Nightwing was doing his best to fend Slade off, but it was'nt working. ''You dont give up, do you?!'' He hissed, backing up away from where Batman could hear because to be honest, Bruce looked like he wanted to stab Slade in the face. If they were alone he would have given as good as he got but that wasnt possible now. ''As much as I like getting my ass grabbed by a lunatic, this is not the place or the TIME. And as fun as this litle reunion is, you're not like this in the future. You're....'' Nightwing paused. ''...well it doesnt matter what you are now. THAT Robin will come around but if you keep this up, he's not ready and he'll freak out.'' Stupidly, he had to grin again as he stepped closer to Slade. The one-up-manship was too fun. ''And then you'll never get laid. Your choice.''
''Dont worry.'' Jason was standing near Robin, arms crossed, gauging the boys reaction. ''That isnt you. Not yet anyways. Slade's doing it to annoy him and the old man.'' He nodded towards Batman. ''Its not what you think.'' Well it totally was, but Jason liked the universe and didnt want it to explode because past-Slade wanted some action from future-Robin.

Superman was flying over Metropolis. It wasn't unusual for him to patrol at night, but this particular night he was doing it for a reason. Brainiac. There had been a few leads - albeit pretty weak, he still felt it was better to be safe than sorry. Suddenly his Justice League communicator sounded. "Batman to Superman. You're needed in the cave as soon as possible. There's a Brainiac Five here to see you. I believe you've met." When Superman heard the name Brainiac 5 his heart sped up. Brainy was here? In the past? Had the leads been about him? "I'll be right there." He said and flew away as fast as he could. Even though Brainy being there raised many questions, his heart beat with joy at the thought of seeing his old friend again.
When Batman said Superman often spoke about the Legion, Brainiac 5 got slightly upset. But then he felt his cheeks heat up. Superman talked about them a lot? About... him? He tried to calm his heart but found it almost impossible to do so. "He should be here in aproximatly 25 seconds." Great, 25 seconds to make his face less flustered. Brilliant. Batman's words were confirmed 24,7 seconds later when Superman entered the cave. His face lit up when he spotted the Coluan. "Brainy!" He flew and landed next to him. "Hello, Superman." Brainy answered. Damn, that smile was still as cute as when they first met. Superman laid a hand on Brainy's shoulder. "I'm glad to see you again." His face became concerned. "But why are you here? Has something happened in the future?" Brainy sighed and began explaining.

Slade ignored the new arrival, and replied to Nightwing's snark reply. "I have to say, you're right." He smirked. "Perhaps I should let him know what happens then?" The villain eyed the Robin of his time, only to watch his eyes widen in fear, letting him know he heard.
"Wh-what..?" Robin replied quietly, backing away from the two more and more. He didn't know who to go to anymore. Slade was ..not who he wanted to be by at the time, and everyone else he was unfamiliar with. Except for himself, in which was busy having a conversation with himself also.
Batman, he was afraid of the most. Whatever was going on between his future self and Slade, he knew of. Dare he ask? Did he want to know? Maybe... I mean, he had a right to know about his future didn't he? But the question was..would he be willing to tell him? That's when he heard it:
"Unless, you want to demonstrate it for him?" Slade leered quietly.

For a horrible moment Nightwing was tempted to do just that. Thankfully, logic kicked in. ''Its been a while, old man. You're probably out of practice. I'll pass.'' Nightwing shot back, steppnig closer to the man so Robin couldnt hear. Sadly, in the acoustics of the cave, his voice travelled.
''Now shut the hell up. PLEASE.'' He shouldered past Slade and walked up to his past self. ''Dont mind him, its only banter.'' He assured the kid, feeling sorry for his past self. ''I know you're a bit freaked out and this is all weird, but theres nothing going on between me and Slade, if thats what you're thinking. He's only going to it scare you.'' Lies and more lies, but if it put the kid at ease for a while it was worth it.
Batman sat, arms crossed, looking at the two. It didnt take a master detective to figure out what was between the two aliens. To a master detective it was painfully obvious. Bruce frowned, waiting til the boy was finished speaking before standing up and turning to his old freind. ''I assume you can vouch for him?'' He asked with a raised eyebrow. Good guy or not, there was still a Brainiac in his cave, and he could never be too careful. ''Brainiac 1.0 wont like this.'' He gestured between Brainy and Clark in a way that made it seem like he was talknig about their freindship, but the way he was looknig at Clark made damn sure the Kryptonian knew what he really meant. ''Keep it from him, or you'll both get killed.'' That was the warmest caution Batman was ever likely to give anyone, as abrasive and blunt as it was.

"Of course." Superman answered Batman. "I'd trust Brainy with my life. And don't you worry about that, we made it painfully obvious for Brainiac..." Superman said, looking kind of nervously away from both of them. That little encounter with Brainiac in the future was probably not something he'd forget anytime soon. "Our first priority for the moment should be to fix the time bubble." Brainy spoke. "With it we can follow Brainiac and stop whatever it is he's planning."

Robin looked down from behind his mask, and then glanced at Slade before focusing his vision on his future self. "Well..I guess if I should believe anyone, it should be me." He smiled a small smile, ignoring the amused stare that was coming from Slade. "It's just..I don't know..I almost kind of know what you're talking about... Back when I was his apprentice things were.." He paused. Why was he explaining this to himself? He would remember. "Well, you know.." His smile was long faded now, and replaced with a look of confusion once again.
Slade almost wanted to go over to the two of them and stir more trouble, but he knew now wouldn't be the right time. He could hold himself off, for now. I mean, he did have more self-control then what was displayed earlier. But his fun was still very far from over. In the meantime, he decided to continue watching the two from a safe distance.

Nightwing sighed, sitting down and leaning against the stone walls of the cave. ''Yeah, I remember.'' He didnt want to tell his younger self that the apprentice days were tame in comparison to what happened when he was older. ''Thats why he's doing it. He knows what you'd think and is trying to mess with your head.'' The vigilante lied, straight-faced, thankful that for once Slade was keeping his face shut. Though knowing Slade, he'd expect some bizarre niche sexual favor as payment for his silence. Nightwing inwardly rolled his eyes. ''Dont mind him. Hey, you're back in the bat-cave, just explore and relax. You've travelled in time, just enjoy yourself!''
Batman waved his hand at the computer. ''You'll find what you need there. The labs are up those flight of stairs.'' He waved at a large ledge hewn into the rock wall above the computer with a fully-kitted lab installed. ''Jason will show you around.''
Jason jumped up with a grin, scaling the steps three at a time. He loved the labs. Blowing shit up was a faveorite passtime of his.
While Jason did that, Bruce pulled the superhero to one side. ''Clark I dont want to involve you if Brainiac knows about you and ... the Coluan boy.'' He gave his freind a 'what-were-you-thinking' look and moved towards the computer, his hands a blur from the incredibly fast typing. ''If Brainaic re-surfaces in this time, I'll find him. Satellite scanners have been honed to lock on to that type of rift distortion as of...'' He paused and hit a button. ''...now.''
''I'd tell you to go home but I know its futile. Just dont do anything rash. Brainiac may be more dangerous with that knowledge or.... if he teams up with himself from this time.''

Brainy wasn't feeling all too comfortable going anywhere with Jason - especially not when the man had that childish, manic smile on his face - but he decided it was best to do what Batman said. It was clear he didn't trust him. Then again, did Batman really trust anyone? He followed Jason up the stairs.
Superman was going to protest at Batman's assumptions regarding his and Brainy's relationship but when he mentioned what Brainiac might do his head was filled up with thoughts of that. Two Brainiacs? Like one wasn't bad enough... "I understand." Superman said. "Brainy probably has a plan. He usually does. I appriciate your help Bruce." He smiled towards the dark knight.

"You're right, I need to just forget about it I guess. Thanks." The teens small smile reappeared, before he turned and walked off to explore the manor in hopes of running into Alfred.
Surprisingly, after Robin left, Slade didn't return to Nightwings side. Instead, he found himself leaving the cave itself and standing outside it at its entryway. After all, there wasn't much left for him to do at the moment. He'd left his mark, and all he had to do was wait. For now, he supposed he'd just enjoy the thrill of staying in the shadows of the night.
